Kanyakumari-Kashmir Round trip - Day 22 - Chandigarh - Kurukshetra - Haridwar
Day 22 - Chandigarh - Kurukshetra - Haridwar (stay at Haridwar)
Kilometers covered - 275 KMs
Walking - 7000+ steps
Checked out from the hotel arund 7 AM and stopped in the highway for breakfast. One of the worst ever breakfast - yuckkkk - vada and dosa (that vada 1 piece was 50 rupees) it was literally like we didn't eat much and almost like a fasting - lolz...
The original plan was Haridwar -we then decided to visit Kurukshetra on the way. Kurukshetra, Haryana - the land where the epic battle of Mahabhrata took place, is an important pilgrim site and a holy land. The place is also where the Krishna preached Bhagawad Gita to Arjuna and sage Manu wrote Manusmriti. This place is a must-visit for people who are interested in history and Indian mythology.
We visited the following places in Kuruskhetra - Sannihit Sarovar, Laxmi Narayan Temple, Brahma Sarovar, Sarveshwar Mahadev, Sthaneshwar Mahadev Temple
On the way to Haridwar, we refuelled the vehicle at Excellent Service Station - IOCL pump, Saharanpur, Uttar Pradesh
We reached Haridwar by 4.30 PM - went straight to Maa Chandi Devi hill temple. We bought a premium combo ticket in the counter (this combo ticket is applicable for queueless cable car and darshan in both Maa Chandi & Maa Manasa hill temples)
We then parked our vehicle in a dedicated slot and walked to the cable car boarding station of Maa Manasa Devi hill temple (no queue here because we already bought the combo ticket in Maa Chandi)
We decided to do a Ganga Snan and have a Ganga Arti darshan - the water was super cold - snanam for 15+ minutes :)
Had pani puris, tikki chaat and a big glass of lassi for dinner near Har Ki Pauri and settled in Sri Dutt Athithi Garh cottage which was very near to our parking lot
Luv,
Krishna & Mahadevan
