Kanyakumari - Kashmir Round trip - Day 30 - Vishakapattinam

Day 30 - Vishakapattinam (stay in Vizag)

Kilometers covered - 120 KMs

Walking - 6000+ steps

It's a local day in Vizag - more of a leisure day :)

Around 6 AM, I got up and had a Namaste Chai :) no mood to sleep, went downstairs and washed the vehicle. (before going down, ensured to soak the clothes for washing - liquid detergent and fabric conditioner)

It took around 25 minutes to wash the car - drizzling started as soon as I'm done with washing :)

Came up and washed the clothes - clothesline was already there in the hotel - hung them in terrace (partially covered) and got ready by 8 AM. We had complimetary breakfast - idli, dosa, poori (maida one) :)

An Indian Oil executive visited us around 10 AM. Later, we headed to Kailasgiri. It's a small hillock in Vizag - you have rope car, toy train, view points, Lord Shiva & Parvati statue, snacks corner, restaurant etc.., it's like a big viewpoint place. You'll find lot of kodal appalam here - a very popular tubular fried paapad in South India. The beach-view from this hill was very scenic; you can roam around the whole hill and it was more of a picnic spot for family. We also tried the ropecar ride (up & down) - as always we're kids :)

The next spot was Simmachal - one of the 32 renowned Narasimha temples in Andhra Pradesh. It was regarded as an important centre of Vaishnavism in the medieval period along with Srikurmam and Jagannath Temple, Puri. We had a good darshan and what followed was awesome - puliyogare prasadam - supeeeerrrrr tasteuuuuu....after getting the free prasadam, I stood in queue and got more (puliyogare LUNCH) After 3 packets of puliyogare, we got hold of a devotee lady selling homemade buttermilk. It was like someone stayed in my mind and did these :) gulped only 3 glasses because puliyogare was heavy - lolz.

The next drive was to Dolphin's Hill - zig zag routes surrounded by lot of naval offices and bases. It was similar to Wellington, Ooty. We visited the light house - superb view - you shouldn't miss this place if you're visiting Vizag.

At the other side of Dolphin's Hill is
Yerada Beach - wowwww!!! crowdless, silent, beautiful beach.

We got a call from the Indian Oil representative for a pump visit - surprisingly, it was the same Sivajyoti Enterprises we visited yesterday. We discussed in detail about the expedition, took pics, filled CNG and left the RO by 5.45 PM

Spent the rest of the night in the same hotel :) Had crispy dosas for dinner :)

Luv,

Krishna & Mahadevan
