Kanyakumari - Kashmir Round Trip - Drive Day 31 - Vizag - Ahobilam
Day 31 - Vizag - Ahobilam (stay in Ahobilam)
Kilometers covered - 730 KMs
Walking - less than 2000 steps
Action oriented day !!!! Not sure what the issue, AC stopped working by 2 AM. We tried all means to get some sleep - but somehow we couldn't. I asked Mahadevan whether we can start driving - to my surprise, he was also thinking the same.
We saved 3 days and utilized one extra day visiting additional places - Nett - 2 days saved out of original plan of 37. We thought to save another day by driving 730 KMs in a single day.
We checked out from the hotel by 3 AM and started via NH 16 to Ahobilam.
It was drizzling and we continued the drive from 3 AM to 6.15 amidst rainfall in patches. It was super thrilling 😊
We stopped around 7 AM for a CNG filling - Dhanshek Petro Products IOCL pump, Guntur
Around 8 AM, my eyes caught hold of a steaming pot in a roadside cart - it didn't allow me to drive further 😉 Hogged hot idlies and Puris 😋
The drive throughout was nice - roads were super awesome, so were the tolls 😁
My quota of the day got over (around 375 kms) and he took over the wheels by 9.15 AM. We stopped in a village side hotel for lunch - pakka Andhra meals with lot of vegetables. Unfortunately, the dal powder got over 😐
Reached Ahobilam by 3.15 PM - we enquired in couple of hotels and settled in Prahlad Homestay. Took a nap until 5.30 PM
I was super excited seeing hot punugulus - one of my favorite when I lived in Hyderabad few years ago. One full plate of punugulu (crispy fried rice flour pakoda) with groundnut chutney and tea.
We enquired with locals and prepared the order of visiting 10 Narasimha temples the next day. 8 temples can be covered on our own and should hire a jeep (off-road) for the remaining 2. We had our plans ready 👍
I transferred all the pictures from Oneplus mobile (this is a spare mobile that Mahadevan brought - all the pictures and videos were taken thru this) to laptop, created folders, sorted it for easy access.
We walked around the village and had dinner in Udupi mess - very famous in Ahobilam. Food rates were too costly, however taste wise we got satisfied 😋
Goodnighted early to cover up for yesterday's lost sleep 😃
Luv,
Krishna & Mahadevan
